What will a typical day look like?
We’ll start the day with meditation and movement, whether it is in the form of yoga, dancing, or hiking. Afterwards, we’ll have breakfast, a group check-in, and break into the first workshop of the day. Lunch will follow as well as some free time to explore, swim in the lake, play sports, journal, or do whatever you’d like to! In the early evening we’ll have a second workshop and a group check out. Each evening, we’ll have a special activity or event planned that will allow you to bring your unique self, talents, and gifts to the table!
What is included in the camp?
The camp is inclusive of three healthy meals (non preservative based with gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options), snacks, accommodation, workshops, morning meditation and yoga, all other camp activities, mentorship and a community to turn to long after the camp is over (it includes our July & August Virtual Program!), workshop materials, personal and professional resources, and access to events.
What is the commitment for the virtual program after the camp?
We understand that many families travel over the summer. This is a medium commitment virtual program that will serve as a continuation of the four days we spend together. It creates a deeper bond between the program participants and ensures accountability. Towards the last day of camp, we will want to implement so much of what we learned into our lives, but the journey to do that can feel challenging. The weeks after it will help to stay in contact and have scheduled times to talk. Every two weeks after the camp we will have a virtual one to two-hour check in call where we will be introduced to new mentors and continue discussing the topics covered during the camp’s workshops.
How much does it cost?
The program costs $450. If you are concerned about pricing, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we can work to figure out a plan that works for the both of us.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes! Just email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
What are some examples of workshops I’ll be taking part in?
Systems Thinking for Social Change
What is a Meaningful Life?
How will I get there?
If participants are unable to find a ride, we will try to connect them with another participant. If you are able, we suggest carpooling to and from the location. If there are more than 8 participants coming from the same region/area, we will arrange for a shuttle!
Who will the other mentors be?
The Thinkers will have three other mentors who will stay or come on-site for a day to lead workshops. The mentors will be women entrepreneurs, activists, and leaders who will be sharing their unique stories and journeys with the participants. Our hope is to inspire and connect participants to a generation of leaders who are doing important and radical work in their own communities.
Will I be able to keep my phone?
We want you to be fully present with the rest of the group, so we will collect phones at the beginning of the retreat. If you would like to talk to your parents and let them know you’re okay, you can do so. However, we will be collecting emergency information, so if your parents need to get a hold of you, we will have their information and they will have ours.
Can anyone come on this retreat?
Yes! We believe in welcoming and accepting everyone from all types of backgrounds. This is an inclusive space where you do not need to do anything or be anyone to be a part of it.
I have specific questions about participating / I am a concerned parent and have a few questions to ask. Is there someone I can directly speak with?
Yes, definitely! You can reach us at email@example.com to set up a time to chat.
